Research On Intra-EU Trade And Its Application To The Development Of Intra-East Asia Trade

With the deepening of regional economic integration,the intra-regional trade has accelerated rapidly.As the most successful organization of regional economic integration in the world,the development of intra-EU trade is particularly outstanding. The development of intra-EU trade reflect the degree of EU economic integration, simultaneously,it promotes the EU economic power.Studying the characteristics and laws of Intra-EU trade can not only deepen the understanding of EU economic integration,but also furnish many inspirations for the development of intra-regional trade of other regional economic organizations.Over the past 20 years,the intra-regional trade of East Asia has also experienced a rapid development period;notwithstanding,the intra-regional trade of East Asia is hindered by many factors due to the low level state of East Asian regional economic cooperation.It is inevitable that East Asia should strengthen regional cooperation and deepen regional economic integration adopting the experience of intra-EU trade. In this paper,the author takes intra-EU trade as the research object and analyzes the characteristics of intra-EU trade using numerous statistic data.Moreover,the author explores the connections among the formation of the EU internal market,the trade effects of EU economic integration and intra-EU trade,and makes empirical study in the factors that affect intra-EU trade utilizing gravity model.Finally,combining with the characteristics and existing problems of intra-regional trade of East Asia,the author employs relevant research findings and proposes some measurements.Following conclusions are reached through study.First of all,there is close relation between Intra-EU trade and EU economic development,and the vertical intra-industry trade attributes most to the Intra-EU trade.In addition,among all those ingredients affecting Intra-EU trade,the economic scale and reduction of tariff are dominating,income convergence and real effective exchange rate are auxiliary.Moreover,the experience of Intra-EU trade can are meaningful to the development of Intra-East Asia trade.At last,some effective measurements can be adopted to fasten the development of Intra-East Asia trade,including upgrading the level of integration,enhancing the cooperation in the field of finance & currency and logistics,etc.
