The Contrastive Analysis On China's International Balance Of Payment (1982-2007)

As the development of the Economic globalization and the integration of the internal and external economy, the volume of international business grows accordingly, which can be reflected by the records of the balance of payments (BOP). The BOP tells the influence of a country in the international society, the development of the economy and the degree of its opening. And the strategy of the BOP are the indivisible part of the economic and foreign economic strategy, therefore its importance gradually increases in the economic development of a country. It is also valuable and meaningful to study the country's economic development and foreign strategies. China's BOP scale increases as the opening and economic marketization, so it's one of the vital target for our government to keep the balanced development of the BOP in the microeconomic control.The author, applying the modern economic analyzing tools, under the guidance of the BOP theories, combining the theoretical analysis and positive analysis, analyzed and studied the BOP statements of China from 1982 to 2007. In allusion to the objectively existing "double surplus" in the BOP of China, acquiring the foreign research achievements, the author attempted to open out the reason of the BOP disequilibrium and its influence for our internal economy and put forward the measures to improve unbalances situation of the BOP .This essay includes four parts:Part One: the theories of the BOP and the literature review of the BOP of China, the author systematically collated and analyzed the theories and summarized the achievements of the studies by the scholars in China.Part Two: the concept and theoretical modes. The author illustrated the relevant basic concept of the BOP and two modes——American mode and Japanese code, Chinese code as an exception.Part Three:the empirical analysis of the BOP of China. The author analyzed the data in the BOP and the microscopic variables such as GDP and CPI influenced by the items in the BOP and its relations.Part Four:the influence of the BOP disequilibrium and its adjustments. The author proposed some applied strategic suggestions to rationalize the trade structure by lowering the surplus of the current account, increasing the overseas investment thus decreasing the pressure of the huge foreign exchange reserve and enhancing the management of the short term capital transaction.
