A Review Of European Studies On Risk Communication

This thesis reviewed the Research development of European Risk communication process and characteristics, selected 79 articles from the Journal of Risk Research (1998-2007), as the object of content analysis and text analysis. Through the analysis of the risk communication studies of Europe in recent years, the development of major research group, the hot study topics in the research and the research methods, with specific statistical data and the analysis of important documents, revealing the European risk communication study field of some important problems and future research directions. The thesis summed up the risk communication research of Europe in three key areas: psychology, sociology and cultural fields, and roughly outlined a basic framework of European risk communication studies.This thesis pointed out the academic characteristics of the ten years' risk communication research in Europe; also find out the differences between the related researches in other countries. The research on risk communication is rudimentary; the European research can provide reference and guidance for us. So far, the common definition of risk communication is not established, still the risk communication studies cannot fully system; these are the obstacles for the further development of the risk communication research.
