A Study Of The Impacts Of Foreign Direct Investment On ZhenJiang City's Development Of Economy

The continued and large-scale flow of foreign direct investment has broad and significant impact on China society and economy.FDI has become one of the engines that push forward competitiveness of industry. JiangSu Province has been the leader of China in using FDI since reform and opening.As one of the major JiangSu cities in absorbing FDI,ZhengJiang City has been actively in strategy of all-directional,multi-layered and wide-ranging opening and enlarging absorption and guidance of foreign investment to make the direct investment flowed much fast in the framework of export-oriented economy.The increasing quantity and improving quality of foreign investment results in the reasonable distribution of industry as well as the raise of content of technology.The FDI projects promote the rapid and healthy development of ZhengJiang City national economy.In this dissertation,on the basis of Theory of Internatioanal Investment and development of economy.Firstly the theoretical origin of FDI and development of economy will be elaborated.Secondly,the main condition of the using FDI of ZhenJiang City will be summarized.The author will analysis the position of ZhenJiang City in the using FDI within JiangSu Province in the method of achievement index and potential index.The third part focuses on the empirical analysis of effect of FDI on the main aspects of economy of ZhenJiang City.This part systematically discusses the various influences of FDI on ZhenJiang City's economy in view of growth of economy,structural promotion,technological advancement,improvement of export competitiveness.The major conclusion drawn from the discussion of this part is that on one hand FDI has been playing an positive role in the improvement of ZhenJiang City's development of economy,while on the other hand,FDI's functions are rather limited and some of its negative effects should not be neglected.Finally,according to the malfunctions during ZhenJiang City using FDI,some of advices,which are about how to make better use of FDI to promote ZhenJiang's development of economy,will be proposed from the perspective of government establishing policy.
