Foreign Direct Investment Impact On Development Of Low-carbon Economy In Hebei Province

With foreign direct investment bringing in in Hebei province,it has a great economicachievement and become the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei economic circle. We introspect that dowe only consider the economic growth while ignoring the environment protection. Does theincreasingly serious environmental pollution associate with foreign direct investment?Through the analysis, we find that there is no certain conclusion on the influence offoreign direct investment on low-carbon economy development in the forefathers’ research.This paper tries to explain the influence of FDI on low carbon economy development usingstandard and empirical analysis in order to have a new breakthrough and make a newreference for subsequent research. This paper uses foreign direct investment as a startingpoint, through studying the influence of foreign direct investment on economic developmentin recent years to determine the influence of foreign direct investment to low carbon economydevelopment in Hebei province. This paper uses municipal level data of six years, panel datamodel, and mixed regression method to get the conclusion. The paper makes use of theextended IPAT equation and introduces the foreign direct investment into the IPAT, thenconstruct IPATF equation, to measure the influence of foreign direct investment to carbondioxide emissions in Hebei province.Conclusion indicates that foreign direct investment has an important positive role on theof low carbon economy development in Hebei province. Finally, the paper puts forwardsuggestions on foreign direct investment to promote the development of low-carbon economyfrom six aspects, they are coordination of FDI and low carbon economy development,adjustment of foreign direct investment industrial structure, attracting foreign investment oflow carbon energy, promoting balance of regional low carbon economic development,perfecting legal protection system of low carbon.
