It has been almost 28 years since golf entered China in the 1980s.With the rapid development of national economy and advancement of people's life,golf tourism gradually becomes one of the most unique tourism types for consumers.Golf tourism is still a new tourism product which relevant theories and practice are still under discovery.As the center of politics, economy and culture in China as well as one of the most developed areas in golf industry,Beijing has been chosen for several reasons,one of which is that the golf tourism cognition in this area can influence golf tourism industry's situation to a certain extent.Consequently,Beijing has been selected to find out the general rules in the field of China's characteristic golf tourism.The research in this paper utilizes literature analysis,investigation and math statistics. From the perspective of golf tourism-developed countries,the study firstly made a comparison of China's golf tourism development.On the other hand,math statistics is also used to analyze diversified consumers with different hierarchies of golf tourism cognition.It can be concluded from the results that golf tourism cognition of Beijing consumers could be divided into multiple-esplanade,sports for all,social place and original cognition.It is found that most of the interviewers are male,whose education levels are above undergraduates with more 4,000 yuan per month.And they are random travelers.The differences of these interviewers' education,gender,income per month and professions have influences on golf tourism cognition,while their marriage situation and age do not have significant effects on golf tourism cognition.In most items of golf tourism cognition related outdoor sights,it's discovered that the interviewers' cognition on golf course's hospitality function is high;and the cognition that golf is not restricted by age is high,while they cognize golf club not as a social place;in the items of original cognitions,their cognition on the conception that golfer who take clubs are permitted admissive is high.
