The Study On The Effects Of Transportation To Industrial Restructuring

Transportation is the important component part of the national economy. Rail transportation with the characteristic of high speed, large volume, low cost, has the far-reaching impact on the economic development of areas along the railway. With the different contribution rates on the three industries of the national economy, rail transportation gives different impetus to the three industries, promoting the rationalization of industrial layout and industrial structure optimization. Shi-Chang railway, whose body in Hunan province, is a main artery of transportation between east and west. The entire length is 264 km. The Shi-Chang railway, not only connects the Jiao-Liu railway and Jing-Guang railway,opening a channel for the Shanxi and Henan province coal transportation toward south of china, but also has an important impact on industrial and agricultural production of urban and rural economic development in northwest of Hunan province.With the method of qualitative analysis, the thesis studies firstly the relationship between the transportation industry and the industrial restructuring, pointing out that transportation are the foundation of national economic development and it produces different effects on the economic structure at different stages of economy and society development. Taking shi-chang railway as an example, with the total GDP of Changde,Yiyang city and Shi-chang Railway goods traffic data, the paper analysis the flexibility, the marginal role, the contribution rate, the logic of the growth curve model between the total GDP and shi-chang railway's freight traffic, concluding that there is positive correlation between the traffic and GDP, meanwhile the flexibility and the marginal function are relatively notable. Finally, in light of actual conditions along the railway, the thesis proposes that the shi-chang railway company should strengthen infrastructure construction, cooperate with other transport ways, initiative to provide the countermeasures with transport services to meet the demand brought about by economic development, industrial restructuring in the area.
