| Since China began market-oriented reforms three decades ago.As the vanguard of reform and opening up,Guangdong Province's economy has got a rapid development. And foreign direct investment in Guangdong's economic development has made a tremendous contribution.However,to some extent,it is undeniable that the development of Guangdong Province is the cost of environmental pollution.With people's understanding of foreign investment and pay attention to global environmental pollution,foreign direct investment and environmental pollution, environmental pollution and environmental regulation,the relationship among them has aroused the international scholar's attention,and become hotspots to get further research.Based on the theory of "pollution haven hypothesis",this article study the relationship of foreign direct investment and environmental pollution from a theoretical aspect,and analysis the environmental effects of FDI in Guangdong Province from three aspects:scale,structure,and technical effects,though set up a simultaneous equations model.Due to the limitation of data source,this paper selected the related data of foreign direct investment,environmental pollution and environmental regulation from the year of 1990 to 2007 in Guangdong Province to conduct empirical analysis.The study of environmental regulation mainly concentrated in European and American countries,and it is in a developing stage in domestic,the literature of relevant environmental regulation in domestic are few,and most of them from China's overall level,besides,the research literature in a particular district are less. Guangdong province,as the reform and opening frontier province,this paper put it as a research object on FDI and environmental regulation,since it can play an enlightening role in introduction of foreign capital and environmental regulations in other regions,especially in western region. |
