The Research On The Location Choice For Guangdong Enterprises Going To ASEAN

In recent years,facing global opportunities and challenges,Guangdong has been speeding up foreign investments,aiming to promote the development of Guangdong economy and the upgrade of industrial structure,as well as to increase the international competitiveness of Guangdong enterprises.Since for the vast market brought by the construction of CAFTA(China-ASEAN Free Trade Agreement), ASEAN has gradually become Guangdong enterprises' one of the most important investment areas.There is huge development potential not only on the investment room but also on the investment value for Guangdong companies to invest in ASEAN. The ten ASEAN countries should be the important selected targets for Guangdong enterprises' foreign investments,expected to firstly face the problem on location choice.This paper focuses on the research of location choice for Guangdong enterprises' FDI in ASEAN.The paper reviews the domestic and overseas theoretical research and empirical study.Based on the theory of location choice,it firstly analyses the present situation of Guangdong enterprises' investment in ASEAN by using horizontal and vertical comparison method.Refer to the existing research results,the paper abstracts the variables based on the observational and metrical character,and establishes the 'gravity model',make further analysis on the factors which effect location choice for enterprises' FDI from macroscopic angle.Then relating to the present location distribution of Guangdong enterprises' investment in ASEAN,it explains the importance of location choice for Guangdong enterprises to invest in ASEAN.Finally, in refer to the successful case of TCL's investment in Vietnam,the paper points out some relevant suggestions on location choice for Guangdong enterprises going to ASEAN.
