| With the coming of the knowledge economy, the environment to survive of enterprises has taken drastic change. Enterprises must carry out independent innovation in order to maintain strong competitiveness in the market. Knowledge is a source of independent innovation, but it is impossible for the enterprises to acquire all the knowledge that the enterprises needed, they have to obtain knowledge from the outside world, then make the knowledge their own and use it. Therefore, the Absorptive Capacity of enterprises becomes one of the determining factors that whether the enterprises will have a long-term existence and development. Based on the analysis of the relevant theories of the impact factors on the Absorptive Capacity and the action mechanism of the foreign investment's technology spill-over on the formation of the Absorptive Capacity, using the industry data during 2002-2006, we analyze the main factors that affect the Absorptive Capacity of China's enterprises: The knowledge-based enterprises previously, the internal communication mechanism of enterprises, R & D investment, the technology spill-over of FDI. After evaluating the relative Absorptive Capacity of each industry in our country, we find that FDI Technology Spillovers is the most important factor of the Absorptive Capacity in the open economy. The empirical results show that the technology spill-over of FDI has a positive externality, but the cooperation between R&D input and the technology spill-over of FDI has a negative effect, so we can see that the Absorptive Capacity between every industry is different, so policies to attract investment and funding support should be different, at the same time, to improve the mechanism for technological innovation. |
