Since year 2006, The China apparel industry growing with a lot of challenges like the rise of labor cost, material cost and currency exchange cost, frequent change of industry policy, etc. To be survived in the market, it is critical for small and medium production company to make adjustment on strategy and operations. More and more apparel export company deeply involved in the supply chain, they either build tighter relations with the production company or even invest and set up the production company by themselves. They wish to gain more control in the whole supply chain by changing their role. However, most of them failed and got extra cost burden by such strategy. The same problem happened in JY Apparel Company. This thesis focuses on JY which is just one case of the apparel industry. Even though, JY is still a typical case and it holds all the common problems in the industry. And author wish to provide some value reference to those domestic company of apparel industry.This thesis is divided into five parts. The first part is the introduction of the background, motivation and meaning. The second part introduces the background of JY Company, and the major products, target customers and marketing strategy. The third part introduces the details of the current operational process and challenges, and also provides the recommendations on improvement actions and targets. The fourth part provides the detail solutions according to the analysis of the third part. The fifth part is the the concluding remarks of the whole thesis, clarifying the conditions for the realization and evaluation of the program and providing views for JY on the future directions. Then the end comes with acknowledgements. To overcome all those challenges, Firstly, JY need to review and build right strategy and set right directions. Secondly, JY need to optimize the operational process, focus on the profit products, rebuild the quote system, expand the channel, enhance the stock management, production management and cost control. This will be the key to obtain the competitive position in the market and build an effective supply chain.
