Kaochang Kingdom(460-640A.D), an critical commercial city, located in the traffic artery, whose commercial trade influenced by the international commercial trade deeply. The development of the local trade which was a key link in the Silk Road Circle of the Central Asia and Western Asia was greatly influenced and conditioned by the Silk Road. Based on the preceding researches, the present thesis demonstrates on overall study about the commerce of Kaochang Kingdom for give it a panorama view by making use of Turfan Documents and historical records and recover its main characteristics. To be specific, first of all, commodities are necessity in commerce. The merchandises in the market of Kaochang Kingdom are diverse: local speciality like cotton cloth and grape wine, brocades from the Central Plains, mineral and perfume from the Western Regions, etc. Foreign expensive commodities are the staple crop here whereas local speciality is lacking in competitiveness. Secondly, merchants were the most important participants. They came from the Central Plains and the Western Regions, especially from Sogdiane take a large mount of population played a important role, were all came here to make business and trade. Apart from these merchants, more or less, all the different social class had got relationships with the Silk Road trade. Kaochang governments made the greatest profits by bringing convenience to the trade and getting themselves involved in it. The local residents produced some of merchandises for the trade. And third, the commercial trade whose contract derived from legal culture in the Han-Jin Period was the same as that of the Central Plains was a typical example of multi-culture hybrid. Sliver coin was suitable for the international trade in the Silk Road did greatly helpful for the trade and business in the Central Asia and the Western Asia. Generally speaking, transit trade oriented, Kaochang Kingdom gathered many commodities and merchants on the Silk Road.
