First, this paper makes the brief introduction to the history of the development of animated cartoons and TV advertisements, and compared with the other art forms, such as films and operas, it concludes that animated cartoons are characterized by hi-tech, comprehensiveness and fashion; meanwhile, it also does the comparative study of TV advertisements and other major forms based on probing into the cooperation between animated cartoons and TV advertisements.Then, the analysis on some successful cases of classic animated cartoon advertisements proves that the impressive pictures of animated cartoons add more to its creation, which not only attract the public attention more easily, but also arise the potential consumption. Furthermore, by virtue of those unique characteristics, animated cartoons, fashionable, full of the up-to-date concepts and popular, are accepted by the young eagerly on the one hand, on the other hand, in contrast with the traditional TV advertisements, the advertisements made by animated cartoons have strong emotional appeal and more likely convey the information to the audience smoothly, except their lasting and low cost.All in all, this paper makes the following contributions: the general research of the development of animated cartoons and TV advertisement; a contrastive study of the advantages of these two; analyzing the public reaction from the domestic and foreign advertisements made by animated cartoons; the demonstration and outlook of the possible application of animated cartoons in TV advertisements.
