Mobile phone market is so large, more than one billion phones were produced in the year of 2007. About 0.5 billion phones were produced in China, and about 0.2 billion consumed in China. But the production capacity in China is over 0.6 billion, so the market is over competition. Siemens and Philips have sold there mobile phone business, and Motorola is hard to operate now. There are about 100 players in China market, and over thousand illegal players take part in it. Giving up and losing are not news in mobile phone market. The product's outline, function, quality, cost and time to launch are most important to the players. The product design phase will complete the whole ID and function, and over 70% of the cost and quality issue will be determined in that phase. So, design is the core competition of this field. Then how to manage the design activity is the most important thing of the players. Sony Ericsson selects the design for supply chain concept. In this concept, the supply chain is not the traditional concept, including the whole company operation related issues. Not only design the product for the supply chain, but also the process will be designed for the supply chain.First, introduce the Sony Ericsson supply chain management system which have close relation with the design for supply chain. Second, introduce the Sony Ericsson suppliers and classification. Thirdly, introduce how to realize the DFSC concept. That is the key point of my article. The main project manager organization is the suitable system for the DFSC. In the whole product realization phases, there have the check point for the DFSC in every step. The key check point will be the tollgate for the next step.At the last, I will collect the samples and summarize the result of DFSC. I will analyze the advantage and the weak point.
