During the economic transformation of China, the growing enterprises emerge prominently. Thanks to their high development, growing enterprises can produce not only economic benefits but also social benefits, such as resources-conservation, brand-creation, industry-leading and so on, which inject economic energy and promote internal economic sustained and rapid development. However, growing enterprises, especial the growing small and medium-sized enterprises (Growing SMEs) are easy to fail. Due to the frequent internal and external critical incident and imperfection of crisis management, the bankruptcy rate of Growing SMEs is very high. This is the reason of this paper's subject selection.On basis of enterprise growth theory and crisis management theory, considering present situation of Growing SMEs, this paper analyze the crisis factors of Growing SMEs. This paper selects the strategic perspective to build crisis management flow model of Growing SMEs, and uses the methods of case analysis and comparative analysis to discuss how to carry out the specific steps of the flow model.Main conclusion: (1) The external environment and the internal conditions of Growing SMEs are two major factors that affect the occurrence of enterprise crises; (2) Crisis management flow model is built from strategic perspective, and is combined with the steps of strategic management; (3) The crisis evaluating index system can fully reflect the crisis situation and growth capability of Growing SMEs, and we can determine the indexes weights through questionnaire analysis; (4) According to the crisis factors, this article constitutes the external and internal preventive measures in order to nip crises in the bud; (5) Some enlightenment can be gotten from the comparative analysis of typical cases, including the necessity of establish crisis consciousness, active participation of senior managers, the importance of crisis public relations, undertaking the social responsibility, and so on.The innovations of the paper lie in the following aspects: (1) Enterprise growth and crisis management are combined together in order to explore ways for effective crisis management; (2) This paper establishes a crisis management flow model from the strategic perspective so that crisis management is identical to the strategic goals; (3) The establishment of crisis evaluating index system is based on the critical factors of crisis situation and growth capability in Growing SMEs, then through questionnaire analysis we can determine the index weights.
