This article selects the view of the longevity and nativity ceremony, reveals the inheritance, variation and development of longevity and nativity custom in different background through the detailed description of a village's longevity and nativity custom that in the center of Shandong province for sixty years.Any custom is related to it's soil closely.With the changes of backgound, the birth custom varies and develops accordingly. Specifically,the birth cunstom was inheritance of traditional ceremony basicly in 1949 to 1966.The mainly expression is as follows:the villagers agree to celebrate birth ceremony,family member and relatives are the main congratulatory crowd,gifts are basic food,banquet is a little abundant than the usual diet.Then, the traditional birth ceremony played down in 1966 to 1983.The mainly expression is as follows:the villagers' idea varied in the political environment,family members were the main congratulatory crowd, gifts and banquet didn't vary.In 1983 to 1993,the traditional birth ceremony restored,the villagers began to attach importance to birth ceremony,gifts began to become rich,banquet came into being a bit of scale. And in 1993 to 2008,the traditional birth ceremony started to floursh,friends also added to the congratulatory crowd,the birthday cake and cash became to current birth gifts,banquet beaome to more hearty.To study the inheritance and trasition of birth custom that in different times,we can find that the reason is as follows.The quality of the economic situation restricts and impellents the varition of birth custom,the adhesion and updating of people's thoughts play an important role in transition of birth custom,the social environment of different periods edifies and restricts the birth custom.In conclusion,the primary intention of this article is to pay attention of the variation of the longevity and nativity custom, to study the human relation that are reflected by gifts exchange in longevity and nativity custom activities and the reason of longevity and nativity custom's variation.To study the perspective of contemporary rural birth custom,we can have a clear understanding of contemporary rural development since 1949.
