Distribution consists of vehicle selection, freight loading, and vehicle scheduling. Freight loading is an important process of distribution and has a close relationship with vehicle scheduling. It includes two steps, loading and stowage. Taking into consideration the customers' time requirement and vehicle scheduling, this paper studies the method of freight loading both in loading and stowing, tests their integration and optimization, and seeks for a more practical loading method. This article discusses successively the mathematical models and solutions related to freight loading. First, it studies the two main theoretical models used in logistics, namely "two-dimensional knapsack" and "three-dimensional space layout". For the former, the author introduces the cubage-weight ratio into calculation, and ensures the good use of both vehicle cubage and carrying capacity. And for the latter, the author introduces the classical G&R algorithm, states its merits and defects, and then proposes the conception of Loading Priority Scale. Based on this conception, and the premises of customers' time requirement and shortest routes, the author designs a two-dimensional freight loading algorithm and illuminates the impact of Loading Priority Scale on three-dimensional freight loading. As is well known, distribution models influence freight loading method, so in the following part, the author suggests a loading method specifically for the distribution, where the logistic distributions are frequent and small-scale. This method is based on the previous theories and customers' orders, and it divides orders according to the Loading Priority Scale and then loads the freights in a mixed way. While operating, this method gives a full consideration to the vehicle cubage and carrying load, orients to customers' time requirement and the rule of shortest routes, then nails down priority scale, confirms the varieties and quantity of freights with "two-dimensional knapsack" and finally realizes the stowing with three-dimensional stowing model. To demonstrate this operation, a logistic case is employed and analyzed. The loading models and solutions studied in this article can effectively enhance customers' satisfaction and reduce the logistic cost, and thus have a relatively high referential value.
