The Study On The Evaluation Of City Competitiveness Of Hebei Province

As the globalization of world is economy and incorporation of information, the effect of cities in the development of countries is becoming more important.The competence among cities is increasingly vehement. How to improve the competitiveness of cities has become the focuses to face both the challenges and chances that globalization brings us. The foreign scholars had started that research from early 1990s as many of the Chinese scholars have done some useful researches and worked out theories of themselves in accordance with the reality of China. But till now, we still don't have a mature and widely recognized index system to measure the competitiveness of cities.First of all, the paper explains the research background of city competitiveness, then it gives a study on the importance of this research. The paper then analyzes the conception of city competitiveness to conclude the essencial of city competitiveness.Secondly, on the basic of the conceptions both home and abroad, the paper brings its own conception. The paper works out the evaluating index system of city competitiveness in accordance with the theories, experiences and principles.Thirdly, in order to get the advices and suggestions to the city competitiveness, the paper makes use of the SPSS software, the index system and the method of Factor Analysis to evaluate the competitiveness of cities of Hebei province. On the basic of the evaluation, differ the cities of Hebei in accordance with the competitiveness level and cluster analyse to find the regulations.In the end, in accordance with the situation of cities of Hebei, the paper gives the countermeasures of prompting the city competitiveness of Hebei.
