In the changing and increasingly competitive industrial area, equipment maintenance is one of important management issue for manufacturing companies to achieve their world-class competitiveness. With the ongoing development of Advanced Manufacturing Technology and the new trend of equipment to be more complicated and automated, the traditional maintenance model cannot effectively solve the maintenance problems under the Integrated Manufacturing environment. The integrated maintenance management is the newly developed maintenance theory that deserves further study. This paper focuses on the integrated maintenance management model and its optimal policies. Firstly, an integrated maintenance model is proposed based on the sufficient analysis from such three levels as information integration, process integration and resource integration with the guide of CIM-OSA and the methodology of system integrated analysis. The detailed management processes are discussed from the following four aspects: maintenance information management, equipment performance evaluation and analysis, decision-making for integrated maintenance plan, and the scheduling and implementation of the maintenance plan.Concerning the specific maintenance policies, an integrated model is proposed that can jointly determine preventive maintenance planning and production scheduling decisions that the total expected weighted tardiness costs is minimized. The maintenance effect is modeled as the"imperfect maintenance"and the preventive maintenance is scheduled with decreasing periods. To demonstrate the benefit of the integrated model, genetic algorithm is designed to seek the optimal policies. Finally, an integrated model is presented that combines maintenance and control chart by jointly optimizing their policies to minimize the long-run average hourly cost. The maintenance is scheduled periodically and corrective maintenance is implemented when the process is out-of-control. The optimal integrated policies are obtained based on Matlab and a comparative analysis is conducted to show the benefit of the integrated model.
