Government-funded Research Project Governance Success Critical Factors

With the increased science and technology competition of the world, investment of government-funded research projects incresed year by year. It brings higer requirement in improving the governance level and making projects more efficiency. So finding critical success factors of project governance seems very important. There are a lot of researching on critical success factors of project management, but most of the time these pursuers focus their attentions on single project and not considering enough factors on environment. So project governance appears very important but there are few research on critical success factors of project governance, especially about government-funded research projects. For solving this problem, the author do some research as below.First, after reading a lot of thesis about project success criteria and critical success factors the author put forward project governance success dimension and potential critical success factor dimension of project governance. The author define two project governance success dimension. One is microcosmic project governance success and it including time, cost, and qulity. The other one is macroscopical project governance success which means stakeholders' satisfaction. Critical success factor dimension of project governance are defined on four parts, requirement, role, risk and relationship.Second, the author design questionnaire to validate the suppose, including segmentation of government-funded research project success criterion and critical success factors dimension.At last, according to the 197 valid questionnaire the author do the empirical analysis. The result validates the suppose is correct. At the same time, according to the regression coefficient and factor loading matrix the author prick off the project governance critical success factors.Extraction of the government-funded research project governance critical success factors laid a good foundation for related research.
