Research On Critical Chain Buffer Placing And Management Based On Float

The application of critical chain project management approach for shortening the project duration in practical has achieved good effects. And the theory of critical chain has also been a focus for many researchers. The properties of floats which are the blank areas of critical chain management are studied in this paper. This paper solves the problems of identifying the critical chain and feeding chain in a complex network in use of properties of floats. And the method is simple and effective. Properties of floats are studied in critical chain in use of CPM network, and then the problem which the feeding buffer affects the critical chain is solved, when the size of feeding buffer is larger than it should be. As a result the method of buffer placing is improved.
