Project cost management is one of the most important parts of project management, and it is the foundation of decision-making and profit-making of the investors among the competitive market. As the large-scale fundamental construction, thermal power generations have important impact on national economy. So it is very important to research the cost management of thermal power generations.This paper introduced the theories and methodologies of the cost management of electricity generations, analyzed the current situation of the cost management of thermal power generations of The Power Investment Corperation referring to the phases of decision-making, designing, biding and constructing, concluded the impact factors of the cost management of thermal power generations, proposed suggestions to improve the cost management from the points of project owners, and did the case studies.
