The development of information technology is an effective guarantee of the improvement of enterprise logistics management. Bar code technology as an important information technology has been used widely in distribution centers. As to distribution centers, bar code is the method of identifing and collecting information. In order to make bar code technology opereate exactively, an information system which is suited to logistics activities in distribution center is a must. In the circumtances, a study which focuses on distrbution centers of chain stores is carried on.On the basis of logistics activities in chain stores' distribution centers and the application of bar code in distribution centers, the essay disscussed a plan of the inventory controling system in chain stores'distribution centers. Start from the basic system design, according to the order of in storage operation in-storage handling, selection and out storage operation, the paper does the research mainly on selection and out storage operation which is also the most important and complex logistics operations. At first, the paper discusses the overall process of the work and decision-making principles of pallet combination and turnover box combination on selection and out storage operation. Then based on the research of pallet selection and transfer line selection, do the work on process of system control. The paper compares differences of out storage operation from valuables and home appliances to the others. Consolidation area management and vehicle platform management are also important parts of warehousing control system. The paper has done some brief analysis on the two auxiliary tasks.
