At present, the infrastructure frame network of multimodal transportation system already basically formed in china. As rhythm of people's life increasingly speeds up, the commodity circulation and the circulation scope expand unceasingly, express freight transportation demand of the shippers is getting bigger and bigger. It is urgent to develop fast, prompt, convenient, the door to door shipment service. The development of multimodal express freight transportation network has a great significance to economic development in china.The calculating of the network capacity of multimodal express freight transportation system is a important field of network planning management and evaluation. In this thesis, the calculating method of network capacity of multimodal express freight transportation system was researched. Firstly, it discussed the conception of express freight and characteristics of the multimodal express freight transportation system, summarized and analyzed the definition of the multimodal express freight transportation system capacity, and then it discussed the factors that affected the practical-effective capacity. It gave the method of calculation of the network capacity of the multimodal express freight transportation system. And it analyzed the delay function of the multimodal express freight transportation network, built up a programming model to calculate it considering the delay function of the multimodal express freight transportation network, gave the algorithm to solve it. At last, it designed an example to calculate the network capacity of the multimodal express freight transportation while the LOS is given. The results verify the correctness of the model and the effectiveness of the algorithm and prove that the applicability of this paper is well.
