The U.S. subprime mortgage crisis intensified, it originated in the second half of 2006, not only inflicted heavy losses on the U.S. financial sector, but also continuing to spread the real economy, and spread to global. At the end of 2008, the report named World Economic Situation and Prospects 2009 issued by the UN described this to:" Because of the recession of developed countries, led by the United States and Europe, the world's total economic output may be overall shrunk by 0.4% in 2009,this will be the first global economic recession since the great depression in 1930s." In this context, it has important practical and theoretical significance to carding a variety of academic point of view timely on the causes of sub-prime crisis and analysis the root causes of the sub-prime crisis. This article summarizes five kinds of typical point of view on the causes of the U.S. sub-prime crisis, based on the detailed analysis in specific historical characteristics of the subprime crisis, analyze with the logic of Marxist political economy, put forward the argument of the sub-prime crisis is rooted in the basic economic system of capitalism.The paper is divided into four chapters, the first chapter is introduction, presented the background and rationale of topics, and described research status of the US subprime mortgage crisis causes briefly, introduced the research methods and writing ideas. The second chapter described what is the sub-prime crisis, included the meaning, historical background, the development process. The third chapter introduced specific historical characteristics of the sub-prime crisis with Marxist political economy theories on the economic crisis. The fourth chapter tight commitments previously, use the above principles, methods, and logic to analyze, prominent difference between the sub-prime crisis and capitalist economic crisis in 19th century, and come to conclusions that the sub-prime crisis is rooted in the basic economic system of capitalism.
