The Analysis And The Countermeasure Study About The Influence Of FDI TT On Economic Growth

Technique progress is one of the most important factors for our country's economic growth, and it's also a very strong power to guide economic development. All the countries think a lot of methods to promote technique progress, setting up the technology transfer system is the main one. And the main method to promote technology transfer is FDI, which is a major channel for the access to advanced technologies by developing countries. Attracting FDI can form capital, and meanwhile it can take us more advanced technology and the experience of management. It's also useful to improve our technology innovation. There're two opposite efforts : Technology spillover and squeezing out domestic firms. It's a complicated process, and many factors have an influence on it. So in order to promote technology progress and economy growth, it's important to study how to enforce and use the effect of FDI technology transfer to China.Based on the empirical research and previous studies, this paper studies the principals that FDI technology transfer promotes economic growth by a model which is under a supposition condition. The main questions this paper studies are: (1) how does FDI TT process work? (2) Which kinds of factors affect FDI TT? (3) How FDI TT affect economic progress, especially after considering the human capital and R&D.In this thesis, it makes use of some domestic and foreign theories on FDI technology transfer,the situation of FDI in China to analyze the influence of FDI technology transfer to economic progress by using the data of Jiangsu province. This paper gets the results following: FDI is positive to economic progress of Jiangsu province, and it exits technology spillover effect; then analyze the factors which affect FDI TT, which shows the human capital and R&D have a connection with FDI, it can reinforce the FDI effects of TT; based on the data of the whole province, separately study FDI TT in three regions (Sunan,Suzhong,Subei) of Jiangsu province, and it shows there are many problems; based on the empirical research of Jiangsu province, the author puts forward some advices to reinforce the FDI effects of TT from two big aspects: one is the role of the government. The government should adjust the policy of FDI and value the quality of incoming FDI; have an emphasis on the development of the human capital and adds the educational investment, especially for western area; the government should adjust domestic FDI region and industrial structure to balance the development of the east-west section and so on. The other one is the role of the firms. The domestic enterprises should improve their ability of technology innovation and reduce the technological gap; expand the channels of FDI TT and reduce the cost of TT by thinking of many methods; improve the ability of digestion to new technology and do more R&D with other firms. These suggest are helpful to get more technology spillover for domestic enterprises, improve technical productivity and economic progress at last. It's also advantageous in updating firms'structure technology advancement, and enhancing the firms'competitive power.
