Consumption of aquatic products in northern region of China still haves a relatively low level due to the high price, as well as high storage and processing cost. In recent years, aquatic products have become more and more consumer choice thanks to the rapid rise of resident income, improved processing system and advanced retail and storage system. In addition, the rapidly development of catering industry contributed to consume of aquatic products for it making it easier for to consume aquatic products. Study of urban families'consumer behavior and its causable factors in consumption of aquatic products are conductive to understand the situation of market demand and future trends in China, furthermore, it's significantly to promote the healthy development of catering industry and aquatic products market, as well as help for police making.This study analyzed the influencing factors of household eating out consumption of aquatic products by using a Double-hurdle Model, on the basis of a dairy-based household survey data in urban Beijing. The empirical results indicate that both income and time opportunity cost have positive effects on the household decisions on whether to consume aquatic products at home, as well as on the amount of consumption. Moreover, household's decisions on participation and consumption are also found to be significantly negatively related to the size of the family structure and regional distribution.
