Since the founding of PRC, Chinese technology imports developed rapidly and its approach has changed from traditional to modern style. Absolutely, it has contributed a lot to Chinese economic growth. But in regional situation, the effect of the economic promotion via technology imports differs really.This article starting from the theories of Economic growth and Technology imports, firstly, measures the effect of the economic promotion via technology imports, namely the contribution rate of technological advance. The outcome of the measurement shows the differences.Secondly, the article analyses the factors promoting an economic growth via technology imports, makes use of factor analysis to find out four components, which are used as independent variable in Regression analysis, and draw the conclusion: the technical absorptive capability is the most important factor to the process of technology imports promoting the economic, while the use, adaptability and movements also have the impact. Meanwhile, the factor of technical absorptive capability, use and movements contributes more in eastern area; the factor of adaptability contributes more in western area. That's the explanation of the difference between regional contribution rates of technological advance.Finally, the article provides the strategies on how to extend the economic promotion via technology imports, and how to give play to strong points, improve inferior points in different areas.
