Research On The Competitiveness Of Inner Mongolia Grassland Animal Husbandry

After China entering the WTO, more and more experts point out the issues of international competitiveness then research on issues of competitiveness began. However, there are little studies on the issues of competitiveness of animal husbandry, especially on Inner Mongolia animal husbandry. Inner Mongolia is a big province of animal husbandry, but not a strong province. Especially the proportion of grassland animal husbandry which has a long history in Inner Mongolia is lower and lower in the total production value of animal husbandry. Inner Mongolia grassland animal husbandry didn't bring its contrast advantage into play in recent years, and is short of the capacity of market competition.This thesis discussed the competitiveness of Inner Mongolia grassland animal husbandry from the perspectives of production, technology, principal part and regional competitiveness of Inner Mongolia grassland animal husbandry. Moreover, this thesis evaluates the competitiveness of Inner Mongolia grassland animal husbandry by analyzing the following five points:industrial factors, industrial structure, industry development trend, development environment and internalization. Despite deficiencies in institutional system, financing and technology revolution, Inner Mongolia grassland animal husbandry still has great potential. In spite of the overwhelming priority of certain product, the overall competitiveness of animal husbandry is fragile. The price-advantage of certain products is at the cost of circumstance in the international competition.According to the SWOT analysis of the overall competitiveness of Inner Mongolia grassland animal husbandry, this thesis proposed a series of strategies so as to acquire new space for development and seek higher returns. The authorities should take following four measures:Firstly, we should transform resource advantage into economic advantage by making use of natural resource and developing industrial clusters in rural and pastoral areas. Secondly, we should improve animal immunity quality and relevant authorities'ability to respond to and manage serious animal diseases so as to speed up the implementation of animal protection project. At the same time, we also need to grasp the chance of the West Development Plan and China entering WTO to promote investment. Thirdly, the government ought to increase investment, improve grassland ecological restoration, develop security system, and speed up the process of marketization and informatization so as to increase proprietor's income. Finally, we should raise the production and quality and pay much attention to the development of related industries by increasing the scientific and technical input and strong financial support form financial policies.
