China is a large agricultural nation. The rural economy occupies a certain proportion in the national economy. It is about seven percent of farmland in the world to support a fifth of the global population. The agricultural population is more than 700 million. Since the establishment of the People's Republic of China, The several generation of collective leadership and various government has been attached great importance to "three rural issues"(agriculture, countryside and farmers).Since the reform and opening up, China has faced the arduous task. of system transformation, agricultural industrialization and urbanization transformation. Resolving the "three rural issues" is an important issue relating to the economic development, social harmony and the prosperity of the country. Mao Zedong is on behalf of the first generation of collective leadership, he enriched the thought of "three agriculture" during the leadership of the new democratic revolution and the socialist revolution and construction. According to the national conditions of China, he summed up the practical experience and refined out "three, agriculture" theory with Chinese characteristics. This is an important component of Marxist sinicization. It is of great guiding significance for the current practice. This paper is intended to base on the historical materialism, adopt the methods of theory and practice and follow the unity of historical investigation and logic analysis. Combine with the history, politics and the related sociology knowledge which I have studied to comb it comprehensively. I analyze the source and flow of its formation, divide it into three stages, summarize the main content and its philosophical connotation, review its limitations and contemporary value. This paper consists of four parts. The first part mainly talks about the theoretical and practical foundation of its formation. We discuss the original formation of Mao's thought from the basic theory of Marxism and traditional Chinese culture. We discuss the practice basis of Mao's thought from the experiences and lessons from the Soviet Union, China's actual conditions and Mao Zedong's personal practice. The second part mainly talks about the three main form stages and content of Mao Zedong's thought of "three agriculture", focuses on thinking the level of Mao Zedong's awareness and the policies adopted by Mao in the new democratic revolution and the socialist revolution and construction. The third part mines the philosophical connotations of Mao Zedong's thought of "three agriculture". Historical materialism is an important philosophical feature of Mao Zedong's theory, it embodies:emphasizing the law of the production relations must adapt to the development of production capability, and paying attention to the historical masses view of philosophy. The spirit of materialistic dialectics is throughout it from the beginning to the end. It includes the dialectical thinking of universality and particularity of contradiction, grasping the principal contradiction, noting general contact. Dialectical materialism epistemology is the methodology basis of Mao's thought, it embodies:practice is the foundation of knowledge, practice is the fundamental motive of further knowledge. The fourth part considers the limitation of Mao Zedong's thought of "three agriculture" and its contemporary value.First from the theoretical misconceptions and the policy implementation errors of Mao Zedong to understand the limitations of Mao Zedong's exploration of "three rural issues", then explore its theoretical and practical value, and Mao Zedong's contribution to Marxist theory, explore his correct theoretical guidance for Chinese revolution and construction, seek its contemporary value.
