In the work report of the Second National Congress of Soviets,Mao Zedong made it clear that "linking education with productive labor" was the party's educational policy.Thus,the theory of combining education with productive labor has become an important part of Mao Zedong's educational thoughts,and it has also become an important guiding ideology in the development of China's education.After the founding of New China,the first generation of the central leadership group that represented by Mao Zedong,has established the combination of education and productive labor as the guiding principle for the education of the new People's Republic of China through continuous theoretical research and continuous exploration in practice.However,as the development of the times,the connotations and expressions of education and labor have undergone tremendous changes.So,we need to combine reality and explore the integration of education and productive labor,which takes Mao Zedong's summary of the theory as the starting point for research.It is expected to provide theoretical mirrors and methodological references for solving the problems of disconnection between labor and education nowadays.First and foremost,this article adopts the literature research method and the historical research method,taking Mao Zedong's thought of combining education and productive labor as the main line,sorting out the reasons systematically why Mao Zedong proposed the combination of education and productive labor,and thinking comprehensively his personal growth experience and the development process of the Communist Party of China and the Chinese revolution,also summing up the emergence,development and maturity of this idea.Moreover,this article summarizes the main content of Mao Zedong's thought on the combination of education and productive labor from four aspects: necessity,goal,principle and approach,highlighting that this idea has the unity of party spirit and people's character,and the unity of theory and practice,and also the feature that inheriting and discarding are united with development and innovation.Last but not least,this article generalizes the historical value of Mao Zedong's thought of combining education with productive labor from two dimensions,which are theory and practice.It affirms that Mao Zedong has created education and production with unique Chinese characteristics on the basis of inheriting the Marxist thought of combining education with productive labor.This idea laid a foundation for the development of the idea that combining education with productive labor in China after the reform and opening up.Objectively,Mao Zedong's thought of combining education with productive labor has provided a material basis for the victory of the new democratic revolution in the process of guiding practice,offering a power support for consolidating the leadership of the Communist Party of China,and opening up ways to promote the all-round development of people.Under the new historical background,the connotation of labor and education is constantly enriched and developed.The study of Mao Zedong's thought of combining education with productive labor has significant enlightenment for the reasons,goals,principles,and ways to carry out labor education today.
