Nowadays IT industry, as a fundamental, strategic part of national economy, has become the leading edge in economic development and international competition. Telecom industry, as a part of IT, is increasingly standing out. After years of reformation, now in this market there are three operators against each other: China Telecom, China Mobile and China Unicom, all with licence in both mobile and fixed market. So, under such circumstances, it would become extremely important to figure out fast, make a long-lasting development strategy .In early 2009, the Industrial and Informational Department released 3G license to all 3 operators. Since then Changes have been happening with huge uncertainties. Each operator is trying hard to gain more market share. Year 2010-2011 would be the prime competing period.After this reshuffle, all three operators have access to all telecom businesses, where Challenges stand with opportunities. China Telecom is the first one to declare"a conversion from a traditional network operator to a modern information service provider". As a result, more converging and changes are promising. On one hand, these changes may lift the possibility of survival in the markets. On the other hand, all-around business may reduce many risks caused by concentrated operation.There years we have seen an inevitable down-turn of fixed market.as a contrast, the mobile market and broad-band market are flourishing.O perators with emphasis on fixed market have to make a choice: changing with more mobile and wireless business. So in the all-around business model, mobile market and broad-band market are more important parts ,where extremely severe competition lies.As a follower in the market, China Telecom Jilin Company will have to make out a feasible goal and appropriate strategies in all-around business model. To make it concrete, China Telecom Jilin Company may take a strategy as: taking mobile market as a new chance, all-business perating abilities as the very core, a customer-focused tactics, large-scale and in a profitable way. As a result, to be the leader in wireless information service market. Under current economic and industrial conditions, China Telecom Jilin Company may make full use of ideas of"differentiation","focus-on-customer","innovation"and"informationalization". We believe that under this strategy, China Telecom Jilin Company would make a big step on its way to its final goal-a comprehensive information service provider.。In years, China Telecom Jilin Company would consistently strive in building better basic networks, IT system, maintenance ability, organizational construction, marketing and sales system, corporate culture,etc. Broad-band business and Mobile business would be the very core. Customer-focused thinking and differentiation tactics would be great supportRecently, with more intense and more abroad competition among three operators, there are more and more new thinkings and measures aroused. There is also big difference among these three rivals at resources available. Also, the release of 3G license makes real impact to the operators on their operation and industrial orientation since there are big differences between three 3G models.。In this article, you can see the detailed analysis of telecom industry, micro- and macro- surroundings of China Telecom Jilin Company. Finally the author would try to forward his opinion of a new and more appropriate development strategy, which is aimed to promote more market share and gain more competitiveness.
