Logistics is an important part of modern enterprise management, which is considered as "the third locality of profit" of modern enterprises. Transportation and distribution, which acts as the heart of a logistics system, is the most important bottleneck of logistics distribution optimization. The nature of logistics distribution is the space-time based displacement of objects, which has determined the dependence of logistics distribution on geographical space and geography factors. For that reason, the application of GIS technology in logistics distribution will bring about great improvements in the overall control and management of logistics distribution as well as reduction in logistics transportation costs and achieve efficient and high-quality distribution services, and finally increase the enterprises' benefit. Traditional GIS and database software is very expensive while the open-source software is completely free of charge. Thanks to its excellent security and zero costs, the application of open-source software can reduce the development costs of logistics management system significantly.Based on the reference of the situation of studies about the application of GIS technology in logistics and route planning in distribution both at home and abroad, as well as the development situation of open-sourced GIS software, this thesis comes up with a resolution of route planning in distribution based on open-sourced WebGIS. This thesis also carries out empirical study and proved the feasibility of the application of open-sourced WebGIS in route planning in distribution system with the road network data of city Chengdu. This thesis concentrates on the construction and implement of open-sourced WebGIS platform and the application of this platform in logistics distribution route planning. The thesis gives an overview of the development situation of GIS software both at home and abroad. By introducing a series of open-sourced software such as GeoServer, OpenLayers, PostgreSQL, PostGIS, Tomcat and Eclipse, this thesis sets up a three-tiered WebGIS platform which is composed of open-sourced map server, Web server and spatial database server and comes up with a solution of logistics distribution route planning based on Electronic map and open-source software. Besides, traditional route planning usually focus on fixed demand points, but in reality, the scale of customers is often fluctuant. Taking this problem and the limitation of classic algorithom into consideration, the thesis takes advantage of genetic algorithm and educes proper controls parameters such as population and generations by experiments as well as comparisons with classic exact algorithm, and finally provides a solution that can switch the solving algorithom according to the scale of demand points.
