The Research On Anti-dumping Influence On Textile Industrial Competitiveness In China

In recent years the overall international economic trade is depressed. Anti-dumping has become an important tool for trade protection. Since China has entered WTO her economy has been developing rapidly, and the foreign export increases fast and continuously, which makes the competition among the same industries of foreign countries stronger and finally leads to more and more anti-dumping lawsuits from foreign countries. With the increase of anti-dumping cases in our country implemented by foreign countries, more and more trade fields are involved, and their competitiveness suffers in different degrees as a result.This article focuses on how anti-dumping implemented by foreign countries influences textile industrial competitiveness in China. Firstly, this article states the definitions and essence of dumping and anti-dumping, analyzes the economic effects of anti-dumping. Then it defines international industrial competitiveness, reviews theories related, states Diamond Model, one qualitative index on international industrial competitiveness, and International Market Share, Trade Competition, Revealed Comparative Advantages, the three quantitative indexes. Secondly, the article investigates Chinese textile's current situation of encountering anti-dumping, and analyzes the advantages and disadvantages of the international industrial competitiveness. Thirdly, the article makes a qualitative analysis on how the anti-dumping influences textile industrial competitiveness according to Porter's Diamond Model. Fourthly, this article discusses injury on the international market share, the trade competition, and the revealed comparative advantages of Chinese textile industry caused by foreign anti-dumping. Fifthly, on the basis of the above statement, this article puts forward the appropriate measures to cope with foreign anti-dumping. The government should improve the law system, external conditions and early warning mechanism for textile industry. The industry itself should build up defense fund, formulate the lowest price limits for sensitive commodities, and take self-discipline measures. The enterprises themselves should improve their core-competitiveness, take pluralistic strategies, and perfect the self-administration of anti-dumping, so as to reduce foreign anti-dumping lawsuits.
