Economic disparities between regions based on differences in regional economic growth, and economic growth have profound industrial factors, especially the impact of changes in industrial structure. In this paper, GDP per capita is the basic indicator, by using the decomposition of the Gini coefficient for industrial areas and the Theil index decomposition of changes in industrial structure, we analyze the period between 1979-2008, and the results show that the economic gap mainly comes from the gap between Pearl River Delta and Non-Pearl River Delta. Meanwhile, by using Thirlwall model and the shift-share method, revealed that industrial structure and regional economic disparities have certain synchronization, and through shift-share methods, we analyze the the function of industrial structure and competitiveness factors in different regions, the results show that in recent years, better industrial structure leads to greater economic growth in the Pearl River Delta, but have less effect on non-Pearl River Delta region, particularly in the West Wing and the northern cities in Guangdong. At last, based on the analysis of the shift-share methods, we put forward to some proposals to narrow the gap of Guangdong.
