Chinese economic transition is a regional progressive process, which is synthesized by different regional evolutions with different transition performances. The unique regional characteristics of economic transition represented at the regional level, form the diverse paths of regional economic transition. In 2008, the 30th anniversary of the Reform and Opening-up policy, Chinese national government set 18 regions as the typical patterns of economic transition. All these regions have achieved a higher level of economic and social development, as well as the potential for development. The successes of economic transition achieved in 18 regions reflect the diversity and complexity of economic transition at the regional level. Regarding these different paths of regional economic transition, the in-depth analysis theoretically and quest for the general characters in uniqueness are very important in research on regional economics.Based on the comparative analysis of transition performances of Chinese regional economic transition, this paper tries to construct a complete comprehensive theoretical framework, summarize the internal rules and development regularity, and search for the mechanism of formation and evolution of transitional paths. At the historical and logic starting point of Chinese economic transition, the regional development was emphasized on the comparative advantage, the essence of which is to select the suitable developmental pattern based on the advantageous initial resources endowment. Through the competition with central government and other regional governments, the specific regional government constantly creates more advantageous conditions to further and reinforce the regional economic transition. The result of this continues process is the self-reinforcement of the regional transitional path, which not only promotes the overall transitional process, but also endogenizes the process of regional independent development. Then, the regional transitional path is optimized trough the regional internal dynamic adjustments and the formation of regional self-development ability.
