In the social sciences field, we often use the established methods to analyze and understand the objects, but we hardly realize that we can have a different way of thinking about these objects. Because of this, we should examine the new point of the way of our thinking. Maybe there is a starting point that affects what we think and what we do. And what's the starting point? I think the Sociology of Knowledge can offer a reply: this is discussed in this paper to the knowledge of the sociology of representation by showing the original appearance of the rural poverty.Sociology of Knowledge concentrates on the relationship between Knowledge and Society as a branch of sociology. The method of Sociology of knowledge reveals the social function of the history of the development process, which focuses on the relationship between knowledge and social problems. Most existing studies of rural poverty in accordance with established patterns of thinking. Knowledge is not a simple cognitive activities, its creation is also a complex social and cultural process. This article is based on the academic database CNKI which provides the issues about rural poverty, to study rural poverty related knowledge as a starting point, using literature analysis, statistics of the years from 1999-2008 Rural Poverty journal articles. Using the theory of Sociology of Knowledge, this article analyses rural poverty on fund support, the publishing agencies, the number of published articles and so on. This paper uses sociological theory of knowledge into the production of knowledge, knowledge of changes, and the social function of knowledge.I hope through such work, we will be able to finally obtain the conclusion that: this is a reflection based on sociology of knowledge, but also the sociology of knowledge can be used as the method to an exploration of rural poverty. Finally, I hope this research providing some useful ideas to the real problems of rural poverty in China development .And the conclusions for this study will become a valuable search tool.
