The equipment manufacturing industry occupies an important position in the development of a country's industrialization. It is a strategic industry which offers technical equipments for the national economic industry and the important security of the industrial upgrading and technological progress and embodies the country's overall strength, so the highly-developed equipment manufacturing industry is an important indicator of industrial upgrading. After 50-years development, especially the after three decades reform and opening up, the equipment manufacturing industry of China has developed into a complete-categories industrial system with a certain scale. The added value of the equipment manufacturing industry just falls behind the United States, Japan, Germany, and occupies the fourth position in the world. As for the growing economic strength and rising international status of China, the equipment manufacturing industry is playing a more and more important strategic position in the national economy. However, the equipment manufacturing industry of our country is far from strength, which is not conducive to improve economic strength and international competitiveness of China. The main problems of the equipment manufacturing industry are:the low overall level, the structural contradiction, the lack of leading enterprises, low clusters of weak industrial chain, the lack of independent innovation ability, the low information degree, insufficient R & D investment, shortage of manpower, especially the serious shortage of the senior technicians and the lack of credit in markets. The revitalization of the equipment manufacturing industry of China will be a major task for quite a long time. Therefore, the empirical and practical analysis of the evolution of the equipment manufacturing systems is really significant. This paper, by simulating the evolution of the equipment manufacturing industry model, theoretical analyze the influential factors and the controlling system of the evolution of the equipment manufacturing systems which is conducive to an overall sense of direction for the development of equipment manufacturing industry. In the other aspect, the practical analysis of the evolution of the equipment manufacturing industry of China is helpful to find out the advantages and disadvantages of China's equipment manufacturing industry, which will provides a reference method for enhancing the international regional competitiveness of China's equipment manufacturing industry and speeding up the interchange of the equipment manufacturing industry in China from the "processing base of the world" to" a technological innovation power".This paper attempts to research the equipment manufacturing industry as a complete system through the theoretical knowledge of the evolutional economy and system science. This system constitutes of various equipment industries and the relationship among them. Based on the evolutionary track of the equipment manufacturing industry, this paper analyze the status and issues of the development of equipment manufacturing industry of China, as well as the problems of the evolutional power of the equipment manufacturing system. As a major factor in the evolution of power, technological change and institutional change, made the development a evolving process. Through the analysis of the evolution of the equipment manufacturing systems, we can see the power of evolution of the equipment manufacturing systems comes from the competition between the subsystems within the system and the co-evolution. Finally, through the empirical analysis this paper studies the seven subsystems of the equipment manufacturing industry. Based on this, it preliminarily summarizes the law of the development of equipment manufacturing industry by which the developing countries can catch up with developed countries.
