Empirical Study On Financial Competitiveness Assessment Of City Commercial Banks

As a later member of China's commercial bank system,city commercial banks face more pressure than other types of joint-stock banks,due to historical factors and other reasons. City commercial banks want to be outstanding of domestic and abroad commercial banks,so they must constantly seek new breakthrough, develop their own exclusive competitive advantage from the minor scale.The financial competitiveness arise at the historic moment as the important pillar of development.At present, the research on financial competitiveness is still at the beginning stage, and theoretical results of the research are far behind the development of the practice. In view of China's city commercial banks being on the significant position in China's financial system, how to speed up the process of reform of city commercial banks and upgrade their financial competitiveness has great practical significance and research value.This article resorts to standardize research and empirical research methods on the basis of capacity theory and core competence theory, and briefly introduces the concept of competitiveness of commercial banks which is a branch of enterprises. Based on the concept, characteristics, elements and mechanism of financial competitiveness, the article takes the example of China's city commercial banks to expand the research. On the basis of the original evaluation system of competitiveness of commercial banks, the article uses the constituent elements of finance competitiveness as a framework. The article has selected 91 banks from the current 140 city commercial banks nationwide as a sample and evaluated city commercial bank's financial competitiveness through factor analysis, and then put forward measures and proposals of the financial competitiveness of city commercial banks in the end.
