Study On The Role Of Government In Development County Regional Economy

With the rapid development of global economy and the intergration of Chinese economy into globalization, regional intergration in domestic economy is being accelerated as well. The county regional economy is theprimary basis of our national economy,and constitutes the important parts of the state-level and provincial economy. County regional economy plays a more and more important role in national economy with the coming of Chinese industrialization and social development into a new level and a new history. Meanwhile, county regional economy is presented to unprecedented challenges as well. The development of the county regional economy is indispensable to the county-level government. The role of county-level government in the development of county regional economy is reflected by its economic functions, by which the production factors are reconciled, the economic activities in county region are adjusted by the market and the economic resources are allocated to develop the county regional economy. The regional economy is one kind of special economy, with obvious regional feature. Thus, the role of county-level government totally differ in different county areas, in which some perform as the"strong government"and others are the contrary at the same time.At the very beginning stage of Rugao's striding development, the strong government orriented role of Rugao is closely related to its less-developed county economy. It's no questioned that the county government has played an active role in promoting the development of Rugao's county regional economy. In recent years, Rugao has achiieved striding development with outstanding successes, and the basic competitiveness of Rugao's regional economy has increased markedly.However, the market players began to demand more and more autonomy with the gradual improvemet of market system and the advance of China's strategy of economic globalization. To face the great changes, the strong government role is no longer appropriate to the development of county economy and conflicts with the political reform's direction. As the result, Rugao should transfer its role from strong government to service government, learn from the successful experiences of regional economy in some typical counties and make up the futher steps to promote the development of the county regional economy.
