| Economic crisis in 2008 made a tremendous impact on export-oriented manufacturing industry in GuangZhou. The traditional developing pattern could hardly keep on. In particular, the transformation of economic structure and development mode in the Pearl River Delta Region was just in the key time during this period. It is hard for the manufacturing industry in the Pearl River Delta Region to develop further. However, there also exist numerous opportunities. In the beginning of 2009, the National Development and Reform Commission released the reform of the Pearl River Delta Region Development Plan (2008-2020 years). It is clearly proposed in this plan that the Pearl River Delta Region should construct its modern industrial system and speed its advanced manufacturing industry up. The release of this plan provided many fresh opportunities for the industrial structure transformation and the further economic development in Guangdong province.Based on the reform of the Pearl River Delta Region Development Plan (2008-2020 years), the government statistical data from the newest edition almanac and the newest data in the input-output table, this thesis comprehensively analyZes the advanced manufacturing industries which should be developed rapidly in Guangdong. And hopefully, the suggestions brought in this thesis could be helpful for the rapid development of advanced manufacturing industry and the rational establishment of effective policies for the industrial planning.By means of qualitative analysis and quantitative analysis, at first this thesis finds the classes of advanced manufacturing industry which need rapid development. According to the data, it generaliZes the present situation of these advanced manufacturing industries. Then based on the newest input-output table and the related input-output analysis method, this thesis analyZes the development situation of the advanced manufacturing industry in Guangdong. This thesis calculated the industrial structure coefficient, the final demand coefficient, the initial input coefficient, the industrial relationship coefficient, the sensitivity coefficient, the influence coefficient and the department comprehensive competitiveness scores of the advanced manufacturing industry. According to the analysis, this thesis reaches a conclusion that the advanced manufacturing industry in Guangdong is on a large scale. And it has a strong capability to improve the economy in each department. However, it is highly dependent on exports and weakly dependent on domestic demand. What's more, it is weak in the capability of innovation. According to these problems, this thesis also put forward some suggestions. |
