Since the reform and opening up, China’s manufacturing industry has maderemarkable achievements; the output of many manufactured goods has become theworld’s first, manufacturing to improve international competitiveness. Foreign directinvestment has played a important role on the improvement of China’s manufacturingcompetitiveness. A long period of time, a large number of foreign capitals has flowedinto China, of which about70%into the manufacturing sector. So now, does thedistribution of foreign direct investment in China’s manufacturing structure in favor ofcompetitiveness of manufacturing industry in China? How does the FDI affect thestructure of manufacturing competitiveness? These problems need to be studied. In recent years, the problem of industrial structure is paid more and morepeople’s concern and attention. The communist party of China16th,17th and18thare greatly made about to speed up the adjustment of industrial structure upgradepolicy instruction, so a new wave of academic research on industrial structure iscoming. With the above two problems, a further study of the influence of the structureof FDI to our country manufacturing industry competitiveness will be made in thisthesis. Based on the foreign direct investment (FDI) of manufacturing structuremechanism on the basis of the analysis of the influence of competitiveness, we built acomprehensive manufacturing competitiveness evaluation index system of structure, and the index system for the analysis object, according to the influence mechanism setanalysis framework, establishing FDI input-output model, from the perspective of thewhole industry chain, and studied the FDI to enter in the manufacturing industry ofdirect effect and indirect effect. The results show that the competitiveness of manufacturing industry structure inChina, the overall rise, industrial structure to industrial coordination rise year by year, the fundamentals of the industrial structure environment gradually improved, asignificant rise in labor productivity, but there has been no obvious rise, capitalproductivity and showed a trend of decline in recent years;16manufacturing sector, the inflow of FDI is relatively concentrated industry as the leading industry andhigh-tech industry; Instead, FDI industry accounted for in the traditionalmanufacturing industry is relatively low. So without considering industry association, the structure of foreign investment of China’s manufacturing industry structure ofcompetitiveness of our country, especially the high-level structure of manufacturingindustry and the improvement of efficiency, effect is significant; After the introduction of input-output model, the indirect effect of FDI to other industry wereanalyzed and found that the inflow of FDI is concentrated industry to other industry ofcapital and labor demand pull function and pollution and energy consumption is larger, partly offset the direct effect of FDI on a certain industry, hinder the high-levelstructure of manufacturing and efficient development; The analysis of the second kindof indirect effect later found that other industries FDI product demand is biggerindustry mainly focused on the leading industry of the manufacturing industry andhigh-tech industry, is conducive to China’s manufacturing industry upgrade ofindustrial structure and the structure of competitiveness. Finally, based on the above research conclusion, the author gives the policySuggestions. The author thinks, to make foreign direct investment in promote thecompetitiveness of the manufacturing industry structure in China play a greater role, the state should not only actively guide the foreign direct investment flowing into thehigh-tech industry, but also should take measures to encourage more foreigncompanies to share advanced technology, strengthen the industry association, andfurther promote technology transfer and technology spillovers.
