In the end of protection period after China's accession to WTO, the financial service industry has entered a completely opening up stage, the market competitive landscape of domestic commercial banking has undergone major changes. Meanwhile, financial disintermediation and financial liberalization have created a great impact on the domestic commercial banks'business model which is major in traditional deposit and loan business. For China's city commercial banks, due to relatively weak position in the domestic commercial banking competition, their prospect is more embarrassing. In order to compete in an unassailable position in recent years, city commercial banks continue to pursue innovation and strategic transformation, and have changed the past product-centric business process model to a customer-centric business process, through introducting business process reengineering to improve performance and enhance core competitiveness, then achieve business strategy transformation from the simple supply-oriented enterprises to value-added service company, to create processe banks with international standard.Current research on commercial banks'Business Process Reengineering focuses on theoretical discussion, there is lack of model support, quantitative analysis and diagnosis and analysis of actual cases, and about how to build modern business processes for China's city commercial banks is only a few. In view of this characteristic, this paper attempted to use a real city commercial bank (CC Bank) as a case study, and analysed the process of its business process reengineering, the analysis focused on CC bank's corporate credit operation which constitutes the main profit source of CC bank, then explored the practicable way for commercial banks to achieve business process reengineering.This paper reviewed home and abroad relevant literature of business process reengineering, seeked theoretical support of commercial bank business process reengineering from theory, through discussing the internal and external causes of China's commercial bank business process reengineering and its effective way, introducted the value chain model to analyse the process of CC bank's corporate credit operation process reengineering. By comparing the organization, department functions and operation processes before and after reengineering, analysed the existing defects in original business processes, evaluated the effectiveness of business process transformation, and then identified the key factors which impact CC bank's corporate credit operation process reengineering, pointed out that CC bank needed to and how to make improvement in the next step's reform process, then proposed improvement measures for reference, pointed the direction for construction of the modern process bank.
