Construction industry is the important material production sectors, the driving role of the national economy is significant. China's urbanization process of high-speed take-off indicates a much broader market of the construction is coming.In the difficult environment in 2008, the Shunde's economic and social development still made great achievements, a good economic environment lays a solid foundation for the construction of urban areas, for accelerating the pace of urbanization is bound to bring the construction industry in Shunde broader space for development. However, Construction industry in the medium and small cities in the development process of urbanization, due to lower trade barriers to entry and project bidding rules of the game is constantly changing and other factors, led to fierce competition within the industry.Qide construction company is a housing construction general contracting of three qualified enterprises, it has set up for six years, it' contracted projects are mainly in Shunde, Guangdong. In the past two years, the company also faces a huge threat to competition in the industry, life and death is imminent. Therefore, the Qide construction company must re-evaluate it's business environment, and selects a specific competitive strategy to survive and develop.In this paper, we take Qide construction company as a study object and explore it's region's competitive strategy in Shunde. First, we analyze the internal environment of Qide construction company, and focus on it's own resources and capability to start a detailed discussion, describe the company's strengths and weaknesses. Then, we mainly use PESTEL model and the five elements of competitive analysis model to research the general environment and industry environment, present the company's opportunities and threats. Analysis on this basis, we find that Qide construction company does not have the competitive advantage in the most simple average of the government bidding projects. The contrary, for non-government projects that they are reasonably cheap with the project evaluation method is the majority. So Qide construction company needs to focus on the reasonable low-cost items, including public works and non-government projects.Taking all and combining the operating conditions and strategic objectives of Qide construction company, Qide construction companies must choose low-cost strategy as a competitive strategy to gain competitive advantage. Meanwhile, the paper also proposes a series of control method on how to create cost advantages. In order to effectively achieve low-cost strategy, in the end, the article proposes a strategy to implement, and stresses in the process of the strategic implementation, strategy implementers should be dynamic and flexibly and creatively using a variety of resources to the lowest cost, best benefits to the enterprise strategic goals.
