Modern project management is a multi-decision-maker management model, in which the client and contractor is the key decision makers. They have cooperation and conflict of interest in the project management process. However, optimal theory of modern project scheduling problem is fit for a single decision-maker, which not meets the reality of project management. So how to make a research from client's and contractor's viewpoints has practical significance in the field of project management. At the same time, in the actual project management, some or all of the activities of the project may have multiple execution modes. Each execution mode corresponds to different time and cost. To improve the research of project scheduling problem, the project managers needs to combine with reality in order to choose the most reasonable mode and achieve objectives efficiently on the premise of time and cost. However, the current research on project scheduling problem mostly response to one activity which only has one mode with fixed duration while research on multi-mode is rare.In response to these problems, this paper uses game theory to optimize mutli-mode project scheduling problem. Firstly, it describes the issue's background and significance, defines the scope and literature review of this study, analyses the main research achievement of project scheduling management and finally get the drawback of the recent research. And then it introduces the relevant theories about the project scheduling problem and analyzes the establishment of the game sides and the game relations of client and contractor. Based on the balance of interests between the client and contractor, it constructs the mutli-mode project scheduling model by analyzing the factors of both client's and contractor's utility function. At last, it gives an example to verify the feasibility of the model. In order to improve the model's availability, the paper uses computer language to design the corresponding algorithm. This research not only expands the fields of project scheduling management, but also offers certain guidance for achieving the balance between client and contractor in the project scheduling management.
