Analysis On The State And Tendency Of The Sustainable Development In Nanjing

After the UN Environmental and Develop Conference in 1992, more importance is attached to the environment and sustainable development. Sustainable development has been considered as the best choice to handle the economic development and environmental protection.As the capital of Jiangsu Pr., Nanjing is the center of politics, economy and culture. Besides, it's the only city which lies in both the northern and southern bank of Changjiang River. It has a lot of advantages as being one of the three central cities of Changjiang Triangle Area. Petrochemical industry, machinery, automobiles, electronics and chemical industry are becoming the leading industries through many years development. Under the rapid process of urbanization, tasks and requirements in the development of Nanjing economic, recourse and social development in the upcoming "12.5", it is important to realize the situation of regional development strategy which is necessary for sorting out the ideas and clearing cut the priority. This paper, which is based on the index both at home and abroad, focuses on three subjects: natural resources base, economic development and environmental protection. It analyzes the leading areas in Nanjing sustainable development and builds corresponding index system for monitoring and evaluation. Based on abundant index data, such as water recourse per capita, GDP per capita, daily pollutant concentration, etc., this paper firmly analyzes and evaluates the condition and tendency of the consume of water, land and natural recourses and ecological deficit. It gets a preliminary conclusion after evaluating the following aspects, such as the devolvement of economy, commercial efficiency and environmental population and degradation, environmental protection and control and so on.
