From the recovery of commercial health insurance in 1982, the commercial health insurance market has a situation of high-speed development. In 21th century, the commercial health insurance has kept a high-speed growth in China, as well as the premium of commercial insurance. The premium of commercial health insurance developed from 3.7billion in 1999 to 58.546 billion in 2008. The complex speedup reached 36% in recent 10 years, which is 9% above to the personal insurance in the same time. But in2008, the commercial insurance premium only take 7.86% of the whole personal insurance premium.From the current situations, there exist contradictions between the supply and demand of commercial health insurance in China. On one hand, the market potential is tremendous; health insurance became one of the biggest needs of the insurance categories for the people. On the other hand, to the insurance company itself, there are hundreds of products for selling which is not that good.Is based on a realistic background, this paper attempts through our commercial health insurance market in both demand-side and supply-side analysis of the situation, identify the causes of supply and demand and to propose recommendations for resolving contradictions. The whole thesis consists of 5 chapters, and the framework goes as below:The first chapter is titled as'Introduction'. This chapter first points out the purpose and significance of this research. Second, described the research ideas and research methods, thirdly examined a large amount of literatures, organized literature review and described the theoretical basis.of this article. Finally, pointed out the innovations of this article and shortcomings.The second chapter is titled as'demand analysis of commercial health insurance market'. At first, in order to make the conclusion, we particularly design the questionnaire of demand of health insurance, analyze, and organize the questionnaire received from 725 families and 2037 residents and prove the potential of development commercial health insurance. The results indicated the great demand of commercial health insurance of residents is huge, but the real demand is not that huge. Then the scale of macroscopical health insurance market is analyzed, we conclude that, from different dimension, the potential demand of macroscopical health insurance market is still great through comprehensive analysis of forecasting of experts and reference of market condition of advanced country. In addition, technically, based on different group of people and particular ones, we analysis the demand and potential of them.The third chapter describes the'analysis of supply for commercial health insurance market', and mainly concerns about the recent condition and issue based on supply in commercial health insurance market. Before the analysis, we recall the history of the development of commercial health insurance in nation, and summarize the feature of supply in commercial health insurance nowadays. In addition, the condition and problems of main body, production, channel and service are respectively analyzed and discussed. In this chapter, the commercial health insurance supply is viewed as coexistence of many different dimensions of main bodies, while the commercial health insurance production is featured that responsibility of insurance and exclusion responsibility share little differences as well as the range of insurance and additional service without the particular features and characteristic. Furthermore, we conclude and analyze the common feature of the disease, medicine, health care and ability-losing insurances and point out the issue in every kind of insurance. Finally, based on the analysis of the main body, production, channel and service, it is come to the conclusion that it is not the insufficient supply that is not able to satisfy the consumers, but the efficient supply insufficiency that call the question of consumers demand.The chapter four discusses the'reason of contradiction within supply and demand in commercial health insurance market' which is the mainly part of the paper. We analyze from the following aspects. First of all, it is the insufficient encouragement of policy, such as the activation of the individual commercial health insurance with little discount and insurance company running commercial health insurance, the disorder in medicine insurance market derived from the unclear identification between society medicine guarantee activation and commercial health insurance, and the ambiguous classification of the range of commercial health insurance and social medicine insurance production due to the unclear regulation policy. Furthermore, the research and development of production and creativity is the reason of the contradiction. The short awareness of risk of consumers and insufficient advertising of the advantages of insurance decide the demand which is not able to be shown efficiently. Meanwhile, the contradiction between the lack of purchasing abilities of consumers and the great difference of production prices is the main reason that leads the insufficiently satisfaction of insurance demand. Moreover, the risk awareness of health insurance consumer and the phenomenon of'reverse choosing'negatively impact the activation of insurance companies in supplying insurance productions intensely. The block of health insurance channel and disadvanced service lead the inadequate reliability of consumers. Therefore, based on these different issues, the demand exceeds the supply in commercial health insurance market.The possible innovations of this article are as followings:1. Most of the commercial health insurance market on the development of research on systematic analysis of supply and demand and the contradiction less relevant research, this article from this point of view of the problem conducted in-depth reflection and discussion.2. At present, there are rare relating products in market, and the writer collects and adjusts most of the products in present market. Based on the analysis above, the writer addresses the conclusion that the high homogeneity in health insurance products.3. Besides the theatrical analysis, this paper also supports the theory in positive by the means of household survey in part of Sichuan province and investigation of professional health insurance company.
