China's medical security system consists of social medical insurance and commercial health insurance. The role of social medical insurance is to provide basic medical expenses for reimbursement according to different proportions.Commercial health insurance is a necessary supplement to social medical insurance.Providing assistance to insured persons in the event of an accident is an effective way for people to obtain medical coverage outside the coverage of basic medical insurance. On the one hand, there is a huge potential demand for commercial health insurance in China,on the other hand,it is insufficient effective demand for commercial health insurance. We need to find and analyze the influencing factors of commercial health insurance demand, stimulate the effective demand of consumers in the health insurance market, and then fundamentally solve the bottleneck of China's commercial health insurance development. This paper firstly analyzes the concept of commercial health insurance, introduces information asymmetry theory and health demand model, and provides theoretical basis for index system construction and countermeasure analysis. In the comprehensive analysis of the current situation of China's commercial health insurance demand, this paper starts from the three factors of consumer factors, social factors and market supply factors, and comprehensively analyzes the influencing factors of China's commercial health insurance demand.Secondly, this paper establishes a panel data model based on the commercial health insurance premium income and related economic data of 30 provinces, municipalities and autonomous regions in China(the Tibet region is not considered due to lack of data).Due to the huge difference in economic data among the 30 provinces and cities in China, this paper divides the three regions of East,Central and West for regression analysis. The empirical results show that the per capital disposable income of urban residents in the three regions of the eastern, central and western regions, and the number of beds in medical institutions have passed a 5%significant test, which is positively correlated with health insurance premium income. In the eastern, central and western regions, the old-age dependency ratio and the education level failed to pass the significant test of 5%.The contribution of the elderly population to the premium income of commercial health insurance was not significant. Finally, based on the empirical results, the corresponding countermeasures to promote the demand for commercial health insurance are proposed. The first is the government level, including further improving the income level of residents, raising consumer awareness of insurance, and improving the medical security system.Secondly,it is at the insurance company level, including “strong alliance with social security ”,layout of health insurance industry value chain, promotion of insurance intermediary development, aiming to continuously improve the level of commercial health insurance demand and turn potential demand into effective demand.Give full play to the role of commercial health insurance and social insurance to spread the risk of medical insurance expenses, diversify and coordinate social capital, and improve China's commercial health insurance to improve social security.
