Sewage disposal in a city is an industry closely related to the life of the people living there. In recent years, with the increasing number of the population and the soaring development of economy, sewage from daily life and industrial use has been in a trend of rising year by year. Whereas, the management model of sewage disposal can not be adapted to the requirement and it even becomes the factor which constrains the development of a city and has a negative impact on people's life.Based on the census data of drainage pipe network of Kunming and taking into account the work flow and application requirements of the sewage disposal and operation departments, this thesis is aimed to establish a spatial database of drainage system and develop the Digital Drainage Comprehensive Information Platform by the combination of GIS technology, spatial database technology,GIS integrated development technology and computer network technology. This platform is composed of six subsystems, namely, drainage pipe GIS, sewage disposal plants, remote data management, remote monitoring of drainage pump stations, drainage pipe web information release, data resource management, and user management. This will help Kunming city fulfill its scientific management of sewage disposal, the automatic sewage information release and the visual management of sewage conduit, thus improving the quality of informational management and informational service of the sewage disposal in the city.Founded on the realization of functional modules, this thesis begins with a research on the GIS repeatedly development technology based on ArcGIS Engine. Then by setting Kunming drainage pipe network as an example, the thesis illustrates the construction of spatial database model and the GeoDatabase. Next,the article makes a detailed analysis of several network analysis algorithms which has been adopted. Based on the real situation of drainage pipe network and topology theory, it emphasized on the improvement of the flow analysis and connectivity analysis algorithm, enabling it more suitable for the analysis of directed networks like drainage pipe network.Lastest, the article completes the drainage pipe GIS subsystem.
