Due to the deve1opment of the RS (Remote Sensing ), DP (Digita1Photogrammetry ) and GIS (Geographic Information System ), the amount ofsurveying and mapping data expanding continuous1y and the kinds of data areincreasing constantly. It is necessary to integrate three databases ---vector database, digita1 e1evat ion modal database and orthophoto database intoa network manageria1 platform.An integrated model for three databases was presented an4 tested.Experiment showed that, the integrated mode1 is va1id. It is very significanceto construct a military basic geography space establishment based on theintegrated platform.The main achievements of this thesis are as fol1ows.l. Mathematica11y defined an integrated model and pinpointed the goal ofthe integrated model. Discussed relative theories.2. Based on the 0bject 0riented mode1 technique of 0racle 8i, the imagedata and its metadata are deposited successfu11y. The security andefficiency are considered.3. Based on the 0bject 0riented model technique of 0racle 8i, the vectordata and its metadata are deposited successfu1ly. Furthermore, theattribute data and graph data are stored together. The security andeffic iency are considered.4. Based on projection theory, resolved the problem of mosaic bestraddlezones maps.5. Searched the technique of RS data compression. Based on the 2--gradeclassific image compression method of Fisher, presented a 3--gradeclassific method. Summarized the methods of evaluating RS imagecompression techniques in which the measurement accuracy of sourceimages is preserved.The integrated database model for three databases has been designed andpractised. The platform GeoMapBase has been developed and achieved the basicgoal of database management.
